Thanks to an extensive renovation by TEN ARCHITECTS, this classic townhouse has been elevated to an unprecedented level of luxury and modern comfort. Elke Van Goel describes the project as a balance between aesthetics and functionality. Spatiality and natural light play a key role. The result is a very spacious and cozy home. The choice of sustainable materials adds functionality to the design. The house is equipped with solar panels, an alarm system, a new lift, ventilation system D, and acoustic insulation. High-quality details in patinated brass and a stylish finish in natural stone make this property a gem in the architectural crown of Antwerp.

In the video above, architect Elke Van Goel takes you through this renovated masterpiece. Thanks to the renovation by TEN ARCHITECTS, this classic townhouse has been elevated to an unprecedented level of luxury and modern comfort.

Located in the heart of one of Antwerp’s most iconic neighborhoods, surrounded by the stately Harmoniepark, the vibrant cultural hotspot deSingel, and stylish cafés and restaurants, this architectural gem awaits. Jan van Rijswijcklaan 53 blends classic grandeur with contemporary comfort, perfectly positioned as a gateway to the city center, with easy connections to Brussels, Ghent, and the Netherlands.

A unique layout with luxury in every room.

The ground floor exudes tranquility, featuring a Japanese patio that brings nature indoors. Currently set up as an office with a luxurious mudroom, a fitness room, or an extra bedroom with its own bathroom, this level also offers the possibility to function as a fully independent apartment.

The first floor is dedicated to sleep comfort: a gigantic master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom featuring beautiful green marble, a custom-made dressing room, and two children's bedrooms with a separate bathroom. The deep green carpet adds a warm and luxurious ambiance to the space.

The second floor is the beating heart of the home. The kitchen, with its travertine island and high-end appliances, is the perfect space for culinary creations. Adjacent to it is a bright living area with a modern gas fireplace and a dining room that invites long evenings of dining.

The third floor is nothing short of a pièce de résistance. A stunning mancave with a dark bronze bar, high ceilings, and sliding windows leading to the generous 26 m² rooftop terrace. This space is the ideal spot for an unforgettable aperitif or an intimate gathering with friends.

“In the renovation, we aimed to preserve the historical elements while simultaneously creating a contemporary and functional home that suits modern times. The design features the recognizable TEN ARCHITECTS signature, with a focus on refined materials. For example, in the master bathroom, we chose beautiful dark green-blue natural stone, which gives the space a luxurious, warm feel. These colors were echoed in other parts of the home, such as the green carpet and denim-colored curtains.”

A harmony of aesthetics and functionality
In the video, Elke Van Goel emphasizes how light, space, and materiality come together masterfully in this property. The natural stone, patinated brass, and carpet finishing on the stairs exude understated luxury, while the architectural Japanese patio on the ground floor offers peace and serenity. "Here, aesthetics and livability meet," says Elke.

With a large cellar and the possibility of renting two parking spaces, this property is not only a feast for the eyes but also highly practical.

Living in the neighborhood of the future
