Description

In a cosy, dead-end alley, in the heart of Ghent, near the Groenevalleipark, side street of the Coupure. Great added value: the brand new Watt site behind the corner with shared vegetable garden and public garden of 2000 m2.

This property received a complete makeover from head to toe in 2019. In doing so, the owners resolutely chose sober, solid materials. The house was completely opened up, resulting in a particularly pleasant flow inside. These open spaces, the abundance of windows that maximise light and the generous use of wood give the house subtle Scandinavian vibes.

Even from the street, this sun-drenched home catches the eye. The multifunctional entrance hall accommodates bicycles, coats, washing machines and the utility room. A sliding door in textured glass separates the entrance hall from the tasteful open kkn with kitchen island in Corian, Bulthaup cooker hood and handy cellar space. By extension is the dining room and a 1st cosy sitting area overlooking the south-facing patio. Rear: bdk, with burgundy Mosa tiles, toilet, spacious shower and 2 washbasins.

The 1st floor: cosy living room and 2nd dining room. On the 2nd floor: stylish office and spacious master bedroom and finally an extra sleeping space on the mezzanine at the top.

Lots of light, wood and glass and cleverly arranged, multi-purpose rooms in a coveted location in the heart of Ghent: this is urban living in style anno 2021.

The owners,

owner speaks out

Living here is incredibly nice. The alley provides the ideal combination of hustle and bustle and peace: the hustle & bustle of the city where everything is within walking distance, and at the same time the peace of a dead-end street where no one really needs to be. In good weather, we simply set up a table in the street for an aperitif with the neighbours or use the shared garden with friends. Then we enjoy the peace and quiet on our private patio. It is also blissful how there is always sunlight pouring in somewhere here. Walking around here, we sometimes imagine ourselves in Stockholm or Copenhagen.
