A pure low-rise villa, located a stone's throw from Antwerp and with good accessibility towards Brussels.

The architect and occupant Jo Van Roey, and Coby Manders (STAM architects), created a powerful whole of neutral architecture with space for the interior, completed by Jo's husband Geert De Bruycker, dealer in design. Given the owners' profession, a clean canvas was chosen, giving every opportunity for infill.

Black aluminium windows, a handsome grey/brown brick, high ceilings, frequent vistas, no annoying radiators but underfloor heating and an ingenious volume creation.

The ground is in the midst of an SME zone. Despite the brooding life around the house, you enjoy peace and quiet on the site - sheep and geese on one side, a forest as a buffer zone on the other.

Thanks to the single-storey building, you have contact with the surroundings in every room. On the street side, in addition to the kitchen and dining room, are the children's bedrooms. These bedrooms were conceived as compact cabins. The annex to the living kitchen provides space for a play or office area.
