Description

Seventies property with woods.

A handsome plot located in a prime location in Schilde, close to the open-air school and the village of Schilde, and within walking distance of the bus on the Gillès de Pélichylei. A plot with a surface area of 5,000m2. The first 2,500m2 of garden and then 2,500m2 of forest - ideal for children to build camps and romp around.

The house was drawn by architect Paul De Roo with lots of brash concrete and exposed brick. The interior shows cosy nooks and crannies. No standard layout, but a floor plan conceived with great ingenuity.

The wnk is south-facing and comprises a cosy sitting pit. The dining room overlooks the natural garden. The semi-open kitchen features a bar and breakfast nook. Separately at the entrance is an office. Upstairs, four spacious bdrms, a bdk and shower room, and a large games room above the double garage.

The property has been well maintained with a 2013 gas boiler, several 1993 double-glazed windows and consistently painted windows and doors. Kitchen and bathroom are in need of renewal and the overall furnishings could use an update.

Provided love and taste a brutalist gem with fantastic woodland.

The owners, Rita and Claude,

owner speaks out

We incredibly enjoy the garden and nature here.

When we designed the house, we absolutely wanted our living space to be south-facing and have a view of greenery from every window. Paul De Roo succeeded very well in this.

We did not want a Flemish farmhouse, but a unique house with concrete and brick. Well-built without compromising on quality and with lots of light and space.

As my husband is an artist, we attached great importance to aesthetics. We like a balanced floor plan, well-conceived shapes and views and lots of openness without sacrificing privacy.

The house has enormous assets. We have always maintained the house beautifully. Our grandchildren enjoy the garden immensely. Fantastic to hear them playing and ranting in the woods.
