Handsome complex in post-war modernism from 1959, commissioned by the Et. De Vel brothers. This is the only private apartment building bequeathed by architect Renaat Braem, absolute pioneer of Belgian modernism.

Façade with tight, repetitive infill, a grid of tumbled windows and snow-white glass al-sandwich panels. Stylised handles, undulating letterboxes, the steel stairs and the painting in the corridor - Braem's signature can be found everywhere. This masterpiece is definitely worth a good dose of Antwerp chauvinism!

This sun-drenched one-bedroom flat on the fifth floor was high-quality renovated in 2020. Space and light are the key words here: large entrance hall, gigantic living space of 10 metres wide over the entire street side of the building, so plenty of natural light and a great depth view over the Leien.
