Description

Meigem, an idyllic village with beautiful views, fruit trees and silence all around. At the same time, this beautiful municipality of Deinze is just a 15-minute drive from the E40 motorway.

Charm at its best in this original family house built in 1870. A house with quite a history on top of that: first built as a shop, later as a commissariat and then even renamed Meigem town hall. In 2016 and 2017, it was given the necessary upgrade to contemporary standards and comfort with a fine flow that feels very natural.

Upon entering, you immediately find a small cloakroom to the left and the office space to the right, a blissful home office. Sun-drenched living space with large windows and nice views of lots of greenery. The open kitchen is both practical, with lots of built-in cupboards and a small storage room at the back, and cosy, with a nice island for a relaxed apero or a quick breakfast. The continuous concrete floor and lots of wood, mainly Polish pine, add character to the house.

Adjacent is the dining room with a handy laundry room with shower: ideal for when you've been working in the garden or after a splash in the lovely swimming pond. The covered terrace allows you to enjoy the lush garden in winter and summer.

First floor with two lovely bedrooms on the right, the bathroom and third bedroom on the left. On the second floor you will find an additional, multi-purpose room with beautiful views over the fields, ideal as an extra bedroom, hobby room, teenage hangout, playroom or office.

owner speaks out

We fell like a log for the beautiful garden and vistas of this house. That this is a house with history completes the picture. Built around 1870, it once served as a commissariat, a shop and even a town hall. There is a lot of character in every nook and cranny of this house. Take the original facade with its cute little shutters, which the previous owners painted themselves with beautiful flowers. We will certainly miss the garden, the lovely swimming pond and the beautiful views. Moreover, you will find some surprising addresses in the neighbourhood, such as Pottenbakker, designer furniture for outside 'Right of the Church' and art gallery Apostrof.
