Gustaaf Van Meel realised an architectural oeuvre consisting of houses, churches and hospitals. On a stylistic level, his preference was first for art deco. Afterwards, his formal language became more austere.
He followed his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
The house on Van Notenstraat was inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. Sloping roofs, landscaped flower boxes in different levels, flagstones and a clever combination of two different bricks with underlying joint.
Subject to renovation, this could be an absolute gem!
