Description

In option - Located in the wooded, hilly landscape between the Kesselberg and the Chartreuse Forest.
A peaceful place to live, just 15 minutes by bike from the center of Leuven, 5 minutes from the E314 motorway, and only a one-minute walk from the forest. The beautiful Hageland region is your backyard—perfect for those who enjoy hiking, cycling, and living close to nature.

This characterful, exceptionally well-maintained home is partially built into the hillside, featuring reclaimed façade brick and a natural slate roof, in harmony with its natural surroundings.

On the ground floor, you’ll find the entrance hall, a guest toilet, a storage room, and a double garage with an integrated workshop/studio.

The first floor houses three (or four) bedrooms. The master bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and walk-in shower. There are two more bedrooms, one of which can easily be divided back into the original two rooms. This floor also includes a second bathroom, a separate toilet, and a practical laundry room.

The bright living space on the top floor offers a wonderful sense of privacy. The cozy L-shaped living area features an open fireplace and a cleverly designed window ledge that doubles as a bench. This high, open space—with exposed roof beams and a maple wood floor—also includes a discreet home office and a multifunctional workspace, subtly tucked away behind a semi-open wall.

The semi-open kitchen with dining area can be closed off with a sliding door. Thanks to the large sliding windows, the space is bathed in light and directly connected to the spacious wooden terrace—an absolute highlight, offering stunning views over Leuven.

The fully enclosed garden is a lush, green oasis. A wooden staircase winds its way down the side of the house, leading to the driveway below.

Eén met het bos: architecturale woning op een heuvel
More space, more light, more nature, and the proximity of a city. Those were our wishes when we bought this remarkable plot of land.
De eigenaar,

owner speaks out

Late 1980s. He/She.
After more than ten years in the heart of Brussels—he went from punk to film student, she studied graphic design at Sint-Lukas. Together they managed The Scabs, until he became a cinematographer and she a graphic designer.
From urban wanderers to parents of a son and daughter, the time had come for something new. On the checklist: more space, more air, more views, and more nature than city. Leuven became the target, “the Kesselberg” the destination. Two architects came and went but didn’t quite grasp the vision. So they decided to do it themselves. Armed with tape measures, ribbons, and dreams, they ventured into the meadow—watched curiously by the cows, silent witnesses to the future “mountain” home. The top floor became their living space: open, bright, and spacious.
He, with his cameraman’s eye, knew exactly how the light should fall.
She created her green world—a wild, playful garden climbing the slope. Now, 32 years later, the children have flown the nest.
He/She is in search of a new place. Smaller, inspiring, with space for the next chapter. Lou & Kris
